the beauty ANGEL

meet The Beauty Angel

 I'm a 40 something Mum of a teenager!

I was born in the North but have lived here in the South for the past 38 years.

I love the little sub tropical Island where I live. A beach or a country walk are within minutes from my home. Walking through the green leafy paths or sitting on a pebbly beach, listening to the waves bring about a calm and peace that is therapy in itself.

Living on a holiday isle hasn't stopped the travel bug in me! Spending time traveling all over the USA since the 1980's has been a personal and family passion. Family holidays to California involve hiking throughout the Mojave Desert, Joshua Tree National Park and up in the San Jacinto Mountains.

Surrounded by such natural beauty on holiday and at home has deepened my passion and conscious effort for looking after our planet within my work practice.

I try to shop locally where I can and if not I'll source my products from UK companies. I look for small businesses to buy from and really research the ethos of the companies. I recycle glass jars, using them as containers for products and tools. Being mobile around the Island I plan my routes and days so I am in an area for the day and not making trips to one side and then the other.

All of the products I use are cruelty free and not tested on animals. I am also finding more and more products that are vegan and 100% natural.

 MY JOURNEY

In 1998 I started the never-ending journey working in the beauty industry.

The Isle of Wight college was the start. Theatrical and Media make up. Working at schools, theaters and amateur dramatic groups for months voluntarily. No payment, just experience. Valuable experience that honed my skills and taught me how to work under pressure on up to 50 people without breaking out into a sweat!

Beauty came next.…another two years....still no salon work….no wage, just more experience whilst I worked several other jobs to pay for yet more courses in the beauty world.

Next stop Manchester….Anatomy & Physiology for a year before I was even allowed to touch a client. The exams were in-depth, learning every part of the body inside and out. Working within a college in the middle of one of the trendiest and busiest cities set me up for any type of client scenario. I commuted to Manchester for best part of 6 months, working Tuesday to Saturday, travelling up Sunday, then college on Monday, then back and in work again until I could stay up there and go all of the time! Why? Because I wanted to learn from the best to bring the best back. I stayed with friends, family and in hotels. I loved my time up north and the training truly set me up for always choosing experienced quality training over "cheap courses", no matter how far I had to travel for it.

Learning and qualifying in two types of massage led to me buying my first massage couch. After a trip to Beauty Excel in London to touch and feel every couch to make sure I was happy with my choice and spending several hundreds of pounds on it, I was nearly ready for my first attempt at mobile beauty.

Fast forward to having a child, several house moves, two salon stints gaining essential skills and too many to count courses and qualifications, I was finally ready emotionally, mentally and physically to undertake running my own business.

I've spent years reading books on how to use social media and running a business. I've clocked up countless hours on personal development and innumerable late nights doing video online training on business acumen. I've spent over £15,000 - yes, £15k since 1998 on training, travelling, qualifications and more money on stock than I'd like to say!

Every day I'm working, answering emails, calls, texts, ordering, cleaning kit, posting via three different social media platforms, running a website and planning my next move.

Every aspect of my business is planned; my name, my brand, my theme, my logo, my leaflets and cards. From the colour of my towels to the seasonal flowers I use throughout the year, everything has a meaning, all in the name of bringing about the best experience for you.

I love my job and love my lovely ladies I have as clients. I research every detail of a treatment so it's correct and 100% for you.

I am still on this journey and still learning and advancing in ways to make you feel your best. That is not my job; that is my passion.
